NEW YORK — A family visiting New York City had a nightmarish experience right on Christmas Day.
A little sisters, ages 14 and 16, were stabbed during an unprovoked attack inside a restaurant at the Grand Central Train Station when they went out to dinner with their parents on Monday, December 25, according to authorities.
MTA Police quickly detained the alleged attacker, who they say had no connection to the girls. The suspect faces attempted murder and other charges. The MTA identified him as 36-year-old Steven Hutcherson.
Hutcherson is also charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon with prior conviction and endangering a child.
According to MTA police, he allegedly approached the girls and their parents, who were visiting New York City for the holidays, at the restaurant. It all started when the suspect arrived earlier at the restaurant and was not served because he was in trouble, the manager of the place said.
