The last time Nintendo and Niantic merged, it was a success. Pokémon Go was released in 2016 and still has a large crowd of players. Now the companies are back with a new collaboration, this time around another of Nintendo’s game series: Pikmin.
Pikmin Bloom is the name of the new game, which like other Niantic titles is a globally augmented reality game where your main job is to walk to access the game’s resources.
Pikmin Bloom is about collecting “Pikmin sprouts” that then start to grow and when you feed them with nectar and fruit, flowers grow out of their heads.
The game has started rolling out to both Android and iOS, starting in Australia and Singapore. Exact launch dates for other countries have not been revealed.
