NASA Boss’ Recognition of Earth’s Replacement Planet

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Head of NASA (United States Space Agency) Bill Nelson does not think humans are “alone” in this universe and there would be potential for a planet that has conditions like Earth. He revealed that NASA is actively looking for these signs.

“If you have a 13.5 billion year old universe, is there a chance for another Sun or another planet with an atmosphere like ours? I’d say yes, so I think we’re going to get some indication that there is intelligent life out there.” said Bill Nelson.

Bill Nelson said NASA has been involved in the search for intelligent life for years, noting that the agency is looking for life on planets in our solar system and elsewhere to find other Suns with planets with habitable atmospheres.

The former Florida Senator added that part of this search includes learning more about Mars. NASA’s experimental helicopter, Ingenuity, made its ninth flight over Mars earlier this week.

Ingenuity flew for nearly 3 minutes, traveling at 5 meters (over 16 feet) per second, according to a tweet from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.

“This time, Ingenuity was exploring a very sandy region to determine if the explorer went there and might be stuck in the sand, so Ingenuity is doing amazing things,” said Bill Nelson.

NASA described Ingenuity’s latest flight as “the most stressful flight since Flight 1.”
