The attack occurred on Thursday around 0.30 a.m. near the Murgenthal train station. Three Swiss people aged 21 and 22 got off the train and wanted to get to nearby Wolfwil on foot.

When they crossed the main street on the pedestrian strip, the attack occurred. According to the statements of the three young men, several unknown persons got out and punished two of the pedestrians with fists for no apparent reason. Then the thugs released their victims and drove off towards the Rothrist.

An eyewitness called the police, who found the three affected nearby. Everyone was clearly drunk. One of them had a broken lip and complained of pain.
