Caroline Saunby, a Briton and 48-year-old mother, died of the coronavirus when she had no underlying health problems.
Caroline was the mother of twins, Eliott and Joseph. She collapsed at home before being taken to the hospital, where she died last Sunday. Her twin sister Sarah Jarvis testified in the columns of the Northern Echo to raise awareness about the coronavirus. “She was the friend of hundreds of people and was the most authentic and generous person in the world. Caroline has taken every precaution not to get the virus. She practiced social distancing, she washed her hands, took her safety and that of others very seriously. She was in good health. Yet it was taken from us in just four days. This virus spares no one, “says Sarah.
It was last Thursday, March 26, that Caroline began to experience symptoms. She had a very sore throat, but at first thought it was because of her tonsils. On Sunday, she started to have difficulty breathing and collapsed at home. An ambulance came to get Caroline, who was immediately placed on a respirator. Her loved ones saw her get into the ambulance, and it was the last time they saw her alive. The mother died a few hours later at James Cook Hospital.
Caroline’s twin sister wants to take this tragic story as a witness to the fact that everyone can die from coronavirus and that one must be extremely vigilant. “All of James Cook’s doctors were amazing, as were the paramedics. We are eternally grateful for all their efforts. People believe that because they are young and healthy, they are not at risk. But the reality is that coronavirus can change the life of anyone, “said Sarah, whose life is forever turned upside down by the loss of her twin sister. Caroline is survived by her twins, Elliott and Joseph, and her husband, Vic. “We will do everything we can to help Vic and the boys get through this.” But we don’t know if Caroline had life insurance and there is the concern of having only one salary to support the two children, “adds Sarah before concluding:” My only comfort is knowing that Caroline was able to meet the love of her life and have beautiful boys who were her whole world. ”
