Dua Lipa noticed that many people begrudged her the success when she broke through internationally with the hit New Rules. The singer talks to The Guardian that she didn’t get the chance to be proud of what she had achieved because others talked disparagingly about her work.
“People almost made me feel guilty about what I accomplished. I didn’t get any room to be proud because they made me feel I didn’t deserve it. While I knew I was really hard worked, “said Lipa, who released her second album last week Future Nostalgia released.
The British singer won the Grammy for the best new artist in 2019, which brought her to criticism. “I was told that I had been a ‘new artist’ for years and I didn’t deserve the award. People were so mean that I was surprised when someone spoke to me on the street and said my music is fun.”
