Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Diabetes, a chronic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels beyond normal limits, has become a health problem that worries society. Apart from hereditary factors, an unhealthy lifestyle is also the main cause of diabetes.

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2000, Indonesia had 8.4 million diabetes mellitus sufferers, placing it as the fourth largest in the world. It is estimated that the number of sufferers will increase drastically to 21.3 million people in 2030.

Some people still have an inaccurate understanding of this disease. Some believe that diabetes sufferers should completely avoid consuming sweet foods and drinks so that blood sugar levels remain stable.

However, the reality is that diabetes sufferers can still enjoy sweet foods and drinks without having to worry about increasing blood sugar levels. This method can be done by using artificial sweeteners which are safe for diabetes sufferers.
