A man died in a stabbing incident in the Frisian village of Molenend on Saturday evening. A 38-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, police report.
Police arrested a suspect shortly after the incident. It concerns a 27-year-old man from the same municipality (Tietjerksteradeel).
Nothing is yet known about the cause of the incident. According to the Leeuwarder Courant the stabbing took place at a house.
Several emergency services are on site and the criminal investigation department has started an investigation. The mayor of Tietjerksteradeel calls the stabbing on Twitter “terrible”.
