The police moved out to the apartment building at Nyborg in Åsane on Sunday night where they arrested a man near the scene.
He opposed the arrest and the police had to use pepper spray to get control of the man.
– This man has been transported to Bergen city center police station. He is charged with attempted murder, the police state in a press release on Sunday afternoon.
The woman is badly injured, and was sent to Haukeland University Hospital by ambulance.
– The people involved do not live together, but there is a relationship between them. The aggrieved and accused have not yet been questioned, the police further state in the press release.
The police were notified of the violent incident at 04.41.
NRK has spoken to neighbors on the spot. One of them says that they woke up to a lot of noise from the apartment at 4 o’clock last night.
Since last night, the police have searched the apartment and the area with a lot of crew and dogs. Several investigators, including forensic scientists, are now working in and around the apartment to look for clues and secure them. They have also cordoned off an area around the home,
