Man Abusing an Elderly in Tangerang Has a Heartache Called Not Married

Police uncovered the motive of a man with the initials GP abusing an elderly woman in Karang Tengah, Ciledug, Kota Tangerang. The perpetrator committed the persecution because he felt hurt at the victim after being called unemployed and unmarried.

“The perpetrator’s motive hurt because he was called unemployed and not married,” said the Ciledug Police Chief AKP Dirosha Suryo Sarwosaputro when confirmed, Tuesday (21/2/2023).

Dirosha said the victim was abused by the perpetrator using a wooden block. Until now, the victim is still being treated at the hospital.

“Yes, it’s true (abusing the victim with a wooden block). Yes (the victim is still being treated),” he said.

Dirosha explained that initially the victim was met by her husband, AM, in a sprawling condition. A wound was found on the victim’s right temple.

“At 13.15 WIB when he came home from Friday prayers, witness AM (the victim’s husband) found the victim lying on the floor with a wound to his right temple,” he said.

Initially, AM thought the victim had fallen and immediately took him to the hospital. However, AM found pieces of blocks on top of the refrigerator and finally reported them to the Ciledug Police.

Police who received a report immediately went to the scene. The police found the wooden beam and a number of scattered bloodstains.

“Found from the TKP was a wooden block and bloodstains in several parts of the house,” he said.

Previously, the police had arrested a man with the initials GP who abused an elderly woman in Karang Tengah, Ciledug, Kota Tangerang. Now, the perpetrator has been named a suspect.

“Yes, he has (become a suspect). The suspect was arrested yesterday evening at 20.30 WIB in the Cengkareng flat,” said the Head of Ciledug Police AKP Dirosha Suryo Sarwosaputro when confirmed, Tuesday (21/2/2023).

Dirosha said the suspect was charged with Article 351 of the Criminal Code in relation to persecution. The suspect faces up to 5 years in prison.

“(Subject to) article 351 of the Criminal Code,” he said.

Article 351 of the Criminal Code reads:

Persecution resulting in serious injury is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years.
