Nicholas Maduro takes first dose of Sputnik V vaccine

Most of the medical personnel in the country have already been vaccinated with the Russian vaccine, Maduro assured.
Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores were vaccinated with the Russian drug against the coronavirus COVID-19 Sputnik V. This became known during the broadcast, which was conducted on Twitter by the president on Saturday, February 6.
“As I promised the people, I keep my promise … My first dose, I was vaccinated,” Maduro said and added in Russian: “Thank you!”
On Twitter, the Venezuelan president said Sputnik V has already vaccinated most of the country’s medical personnel.

Recall, February 13 the first batch arrived in Venezuela Sputnik V. And vaccination with the Russian drug began in this country on 18 February.
Earlier it was reported that in January Venezuela registered Sputnik V according to the accelerated procedure. And in October, it was announced that a Russian drug was delivered to Caracas for the third phase of clinical trials, in which 2,000 volunteers took part, including the son of the head of state, Nicholas Maduro Guerra.
