The singer-songwriter LP, who has more than two billion views to her name and a devoted global fanaticism, announced today that her highly anticipated sixth album CHURCHES will be released on October 8 via SOTA Records.
LP also revealed the album cover, their 15-track track list, along with their new single “Goodbye” and accompanying video. Churches’ lush and captivating songs were produced by Mike Del Rio (Kylie Minogue, X Ambassadors, Skylar Gray). In addition to tracks produced by Del Rio, Churches includes the production of Nate Campany (Tove Lo, K. Flay, Christina Aguillera) and Kyle Shearer (Becky G, Tove Lo, Carly Rae Jepsen), collectively known as Valley Girl; Lars Stalfors (Healt, Local Natives, War Kids Cold); two-time Grammy winner Dan Wilson (Adele, Pink, Leon Bridges, James Bay); Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, Carly Rae Jepsen, Sky Ferreira); and Isabella Machine Summers (Florence & The Machine). The album was mastered by multi-Grammy winner Emily Lazar (HAIM, Maggie Rogers, The Killers, Vampire Weekend, Coldplay). “Goodbye” is the fourth single from Churches. The song was co-written by LP with longtime collaborators Del Rio, who produced and played all instruments except drums, and Nate Campany, who is also the writing team behind the Churches singles “The One That You. Love ”,“ How Low Can You Go ”, along with previous LP hits.
LP says, ‘Goodbye is a wonder to the soul. A spring cleaning to free myself from the shackles of my own mind and hopefully others. The light is always there if you want it. I definitely love her. She adds: “The ‘Goodbye’ video feels like that period of time after you make a big decision when you don’t know where life is going but feel hopeful and maybe a little scared and excited at the same time. Being on a boat with friends was a time of new perspectives and clarity for me. I hope this song and video are a breath of fresh air for anyone who feels like they need to clear their heads and embark on a new journey.
Church’s first single, “The One That You Love,” generated more than 21 million views of the official video on YouTube, more than 18.5 million listens on Spotify, and made its television debut on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” . The second single from the album, “How Low Can You Go,” has over 5.8 million views on Spotify, over 5.7 million views on YouTube, and reached the top 3 most-aggregated songs on Triple-A radio. The video for the third single, “One Last Time,” co-starring actress / filmmaker / model Jaime King, amassed more than 11.9 million views on YouTube and more than 5.7 million views on Spotify.
