Lockdown Challenge: Winner of the premiere tournament has been determined

Dielfen.
When it comes to the decision at the 1st lockdown challenge of the cooperation Dielfen / Weißtal / Johannland, the juniors are among themselves.

The winner of the 1st Lockdown Challenge of the cooperation TSG Adler Dielfen / TSV Weißtal / TuS Johannland, initiated by Andreas Schneider, has been determined. His name is Elijah Sayn and he kicks in the real football world for the A-Juniors of JSG Dielfen / Weißtal in the district league (third place at the time of the break of the season).

Lots of exciting duels

After 28 players from the three clubs, seniors and juniors, had played the 16 participants in the final round in a total of 168 games, enthusiasm grew in the knockout phase. It quickly became apparent that the juniors had a “training advantage”. Of the seniors, only Jan David Zilz, Lukas Krumpholz, Yannik Plachner (all TSV Weißtal) and Nicolas Volprecht (TSG Adler Dielfen) were able to qualify for the finals. In the round of 16, however, it was the end of the line for the senior football team.

In the semifinals there were team-internal duels of the B1 between Nico Leidig and Alexander Liss and the A1 with Ramon Zilz and Elijah Sayn. In the “best of three” mode, Nico Leidig prevailed against Alexander Liss with 5: 3 and 3: 1. The duel between the two A-Juniors was tighter and had to be decided in the decisive third game after a 2-1 for Elijah Sayn and a 3-0 for Ramon Zilz. Here Elijah Sayn turned it up and put Ramon Zilz in his place with 5: 1.

Winning goal by “Neymar”

In the game for third place, Ramon Zilz prevailed 3: 1/4: 1 and pocketed 30 euros in prize money. The conclusion and highlight of the console tournament premiere was the grand finale, which – as fitting – could hardly be surpassed in terms of excitement. Fast turns, great tricks and surprising goals were seen by the “lapwing” who were there live via Instagram or Facebook. The first game was just 2-1 to Elijah Sayn. In the second, Nico Leidig scored the winning goal in the 90th minute to make it 2-1, making for a decisive third match. It went back and forth for a long time. Nico Leidig took the lead 1-0 and 2-1, in the 65th minute Elijah equalized to 2-2. Both guys showed what skills they have on the controller. In the end it was “Neymar” who shot Elijah Sayn 3: 2 in the 90th minute, thus winning the tournament and winning the prize money of 60 euros, which can be seen at https://youtu.be/p-ivgiBF-vI .

What remains? “I hope that through these 18 tournament days the players were able to escape the sometimes dreary everyday lockdown, that they found fun in the virtual competition and that the youth and senior departments grow closer together”, tournament organizer Andreas Schneider hopes for positive effects.

Next idea: an e-sports district league

Because his project was so well received, he not only had the next idea in the drawer, but has already started implementing it: a console tournament for the teams in the B junior district league 5. TSG Adler Dielfen – the team – plays in this who have trained Andreas Schneider. Because there should be (small) prize money again, Schneider is looking for a sponsor, for example a sports shop. “Then you could name this new e-sports league after the sponsor,” he hopes.
