8:22 am – Two schools in Büren (district of Paderborn) closed
Two schools in Büren in the Paderborn district have been closed on suspicion of being infected with the Corona virus. A high school in the city center and a primary school in the Harth district should be closed on Monday and Tuesday, as a spokeswoman for the Paderborn district announced on Monday night. It concerns the elementary school Harth and the Liebfrauen-Gymnasium Büren.
In a Büren family, the suspicion of the disease caused by the new coronavirus Covid-19 arose on Sunday evening. So far, however, none of the family members show symptoms. The two schools were closed as a precautionary measure until it was clarified whether an infection actually existed. No further details were known at first.
8:00 am – Two firefighters infected in Cologne
In Cologne, two firefighters were infected with the corona virus. A test has confirmed this. Both men were in contact with the district of Heinsberg, where most people are infected. Now 21 contacts from the fire station in Cologne have to remain in quarantine for 14 days.

Since the outbreak of the virus infection, not only has the infectious disease spread rapidly, but also numerous fake news and rumors about the disease. The World Health Organization speaks of an “infodemic” and has been clarifying misconceptions on its website for several weeks. On Twitter and Facebook in particular, up to 95 percent of the articles on the subject of the corona virus should contain false information.

Japanese cruise operator Luminous Cruise has filed for bankruptcy. “Since February 1, we have had many cancellations in connection with the corona virus. Simply to continue would have led to high losses for our creditors,” says the website, which also announced bankruptcy and the suspension of cruises. The insolvency of the cruise operator is one of the first to be attributed to the outbreak. Economists warn of further consequences of falling tourist numbers. The outbreak, particularly on the “Diamond Princess”, has impacted the $ 46 billion cruise industry worldwide, which is dominated by Carnival, Royal Caribbean Cruises and the Norwegian Cruise Line.
