Pakistan on Monday (19/4/2021) prohibited the arrival of passengers from India either by air or land for the next two weeks.

This step was taken by Pakistan after a new variant of the double mutation emerged corona virus.

Pakistan’s National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) will conduct a review of several countries on April 21, given the existence of a variant of the corona virus from India in other countries.

2.United States (US)

On Monday, US citizens were advised not to travel to India due to the worsening of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that even people who have been vaccinated may be at risk of catching and spreading the latest variant of Covid-19.

“People who are fully vaccinated should avoid all travel to India,” said the US CDC.

4. New Zealand

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced on April 8 that it was suspending all travelers from India, including its own citizens, from entering the country.

The suspension starts April 11 and will take effect until April 28.

5. Hong Kong

Hong Kong suspended flights from India, Pakistan and the Philippines starting April 20 for two weeks after the latest Covid-19 mutation emerged there.

The three countries are classified as very high risk countries after several imported cases of Covid-19 emerged from the three countries.

The airlines affected by the Hong Kong ban on travelers from India, Pakistan and the Philippines are airlines such as Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines, Vistara and Cebu Pacific.

6. Singapore

Singapore will bar entry to all non-nationals traveling from India.

Starting Friday at 11:59 p.m. local time, all long-term ticket holders and short-term visitors with recent travel history to India in the past 14 days will not be able to enter or transit through Singapore.

Even those who have obtained prior approval are not allowed to enter the country.

7. Oman

Oman has suspended travel from India until further notice, the Oman News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The decision was taken by the Supreme Committee of Oman to curb the spread of Covid-19.

In a statement, Oman banned passengers traveling from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh or transiting through the three countries.

The ban will take effect from 6:00 p.m. local time on April 24 until further notice.

France on Wednesday announced new entry restrictions for travelers from India to fight the contagious variant of the coronavirus.

The restrictions take effect from Saturday (24/4/2021) including a mandatory 10-day quarantine with police checks to ensure people arriving in France comply with these requirements.

9. Uni Emirat Arab (UEA)

All flights from India to the UAE will be suspended for 10 days starting at 23:59 local time Saturday.

The decision was announced by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) on Thursday.

All incoming flights for national and international airlines coming from India will be affected.

Travel restrictions include incoming transit passengers with the exception of transit flights arriving into the UAE and bound for India.

10. Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s ban on international flights from 20 countries will remain in effect, including India, even after May 17.

This was announced by the daily Arab News on Thursday, citing Saudia, the country’s national carrier.

11. Canada

Canada on Thursday announced a ban on passenger flights from India and Pakistan.

All commercial and passenger flights from India and Pakistan will be suspended.

However, cargo flights will continue even though the Covid-19 outbreak in India is reportedly still worsening.
