Sunday, May 24, it is around 4:30 p.m., when a lady “of a certain age” according to the police is the victim of a snatch, at the intersection of rue du Port and from rue Paul-Courboulay, in Le Mans. The thief allegedly stole two gold necklaces from him. When the police arrived on the scene, a few minutes after the fact, the alleged thief had already left the corner and could not be found.
An hour later, agents of the Anti-Crime Brigade intervene for a brawl between three individuals, which takes place on rue du Bourg-Belé. After ending the fight, they realize that one of the participants corresponds to the report given by the lady victim of the theft, even if the suspect took care to change his polo shirt.
The alleged thief denies the facts
He was therefore arrested and the officer present on the spot immediately decided to search the accused’s home. On the spot, the alleged thief told the three officers that he unfortunately forgot his keys and that he could not open them. The police then asked him to take off his shoes to verify his words and it was with amazement that they discovered two gold necklaces there.
Once at the police station, the victim recognizes his attacker, placed in police custody, and the stolen jewelry, even though he denies the facts en bloc. According to him, the necklaces belong to his grandmother and accuses the lady victim of the theft of lying and ensures that he will file a complaint against her for false charges.
The 24-year-old man is already known to the police for degrading acts and domestic violence. He will be presented to the judge this Wednesday, May 26, early in the morning.
