(CNN) — Larry King, the veteran talk show host, reported Saturday that two of his sons died approximately three weeks apart.
His son Andy King, 65, died unexpectedly of a heart attack in late July, while his daughter Chaia King, 52, died earlier this week “shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer” , wrote King on Facebook.
“They were both good and caring souls and we will miss them very much,” he wrote.

Both children were from King’s 1961 marriage to Alene Atkins. The couple divorced and remarried in 1967, before re-divorcing in 1971. King and Chaia co-authored a children’s book entitled “Daddy Day, Daughter Day” in 1997, chronicling their experiences with divorce.
Atkins passed away peacefully in 2017, King tweeted at that moment.
King declined CNN’s request for comment through an Ora TV spokesperson.
