The Ukrainian ex-head of government tested positive for the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen. Tymoshenko has a temperature of 39 degrees.
The Ukrainian ex-head of government Yulia Tymoshenko has been infected with the corona virus. The spokeswoman Marina Soroka of Tymoshenko’s Fatherland Party confirmed on Sunday on Facebook. One test was positive. The health of the 59-year-olds is serious. “Unfortunately, that’s the truth,” wrote Soroka. “The temperature is 39 degrees.” Tymoshenko is fighting, it was said.
Other family members of the politician are also reportedly infected. Soroka said nothing to that, however. Tymoshenko was twice head of government of the Eastern European country. She became known internationally in 2004 – at that time still with a braided hairline – as the face of the pro-Western Orange Revolution. Tymoshenko has also been imprisoned twice. The politician ran for the third time in the presidential election in Ukraine in 2019, but was already defeated by the competitors in the first ballot.
According to official information, there are around 105,000 corona cases in Ukraine. More than 2,270 people have died from the virus.
