For yet another year, Just Eat customers have been in charge of choosing the best restaurants in Spain through their votes. Among them is an award-winner from Gran Canaria. Just Eat, the benchmark food delivery platform in Spain, today held the VIII edition of the ‘Just Eat Awards’. These awards are intended to recognize the work of the restaurants attached to the platform, which stand out for the excellence of their offer and home delivery to adapt to an increasingly digital consumer.
Los winners, 20 in total, are divided into four main categories: ‘Best restaurant by type of food’ (Asian, American, Indian, Italian, Mexican, poke, Spanish, vegetarian and breakfast & snacks), ‘Best restaurant by area’ (Canary Islands , Catalonia-Aragon-Baleares, Central Zone, Levante, South Zone and North Zone), ‘Special Categories’ (Most innovative, Best new restaurant 2022, Best restaurant in RRSS and Best sustainable restaurant); and finally ‘Best Restaurant in Spain’, an award given to the restaurant with the highest number of votes by platform users.
This year, Home Pizza, from Castelldefelshas taken the award for ‘Best restaurant in Spain’ for its artisan pizzas with extra thin crust and the careful selection of fresh products. Home Pizza already has three Just Eat awards, in 2019 and 2021 it won ‘Best Restaurant in Catalonia’. “Thank you very much to Just Eat and our team and employees who make this possible, it is a great award for all of us” stated David Varela and Alejandro Moreno from Home Pizza after collecting the awards.
Los users of Just Eat have voted Bao Bun Street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife as ‘Most Innovative Restaurant’. José María Robayna from Bao Bun Street thanked the award and said “We revolutionized Asian food with a very good cook and with very good ideas”
Román de Castro from Locco Burger in Seville received the ‘Best New Restaurant’ award stating: “We wanted to make a place where hamburgers were more and more crazy, we’ve only been 6 months and we’ve been stomping”.
Just Eat created the ‘Most Sustainable Restaurant’ award four years ago in response to industry concerns about the impact on society. This year, Qi Food Restaurant Healthy has been awarded in this category for its commitment and respect for the environment. It is a healthy and local restaurant, located in Elche, which is moved by the need of society to eat healthy again and with less ultra-processed foods.
The ‘Most Sustainable Restaurant’ award has given way to a video from the startup Notpla with Rodrigo García, co-founder of the startup that has developed packaging covered with seaweed that is completely recyclable and disappears within four to six weeks, and now are available in the Just Eat Online Store.
He award for ‘Best restaurant in Social Networks’ has received it Eh Voilà! de Valladolid, for its careful profile in networks and strategy in this channel. Mario Soriano and Alfonso Vera collected the award saying: “It has been difficult for us to keep the secret of this award, I want to thank our community manager and the team, but above all Just Eat for the recognition through our clients, we hope to see each other in many more occasions”.

In addition to the awards, the winning restaurants in each category will be awarded by Just Eat with the greatest visibility on the platform for a year, they will obtain a wide range of merchandising items for home deliveries, resources for their social networks, vouchers for discount to distribute among clients and followers in networks, among other great benefits for standing out as the best.
At the moment, Just Eat It has 100 types of food on the platform, which already has more than 28,000 connected members. In addition, the company includes more than 100 major restaurant brands and is present in 2,800 municipalities in Spain, currently covering 95% of the national territory.
