Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) managed to close with a 0.61% increase to 5,985.48 in trading this Wednesday (30/6/2021).
The JCI has successfully turned green even though President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has just finalized the implementation of the Emergency Micro PPKM policy.
In fact, the JCI had shot above 1%, but after Jokowi announced the finalization, the JCI’s strengthening was cut short.
Trade data noted that on Wednesday (30/6), the transaction value was Rp 12.6 trillion and foreign investors were observed selling net Rp 422 billion in the regular market.
Foreigners bought shares in PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (TBIG) amounting to Rp 70 billion and PT JAPFA Tbk (JPFA) Rp 13 billion.
Meanwhile, foreign net selling was carried out in shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) which sold for Rp. 117 billion and PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) which was sold for Rp. 105 billion.
President Jokowi said he was in the middle of finalizing a policy from the Emergency Micro PPKM as an option for the surge in positive cases of Covid-19.
“This is an effort that we are making and today there is a finalization of the study for us to see because there is a high spike and we hope it will be completed because it is chaired by Pak Airlangga. [Airlangga Hartarto, Menko Perekonomian] to decide the implementation of the emergency PPKM,” said Jokowi at the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Indonesia, Wednesday (30/6/2021).
“I don’t know if the decision will be a week or two because the maps are known to all, specifically for the islands of Java and Bali,” he explained.
The Covid control policy, said Jokowi, must pay attention to the conditions of each province to district. Because the approach will be different.
“Conditions like this must be conveyed as they are. For example in West Jakarta. RT RW kelurahan affected by Covid, it can be seen that it is like that. This means that it is evenly distributed, so there must be a firm decision to solve this problem,” said Jokowi.
