Nthe week in which the divorce between Livre and Joacine Katar Moreira, with the party withdrawing political confidence from the deputy, Luís Marques Mendes left harsh criticisms of the parliamentarian, making it clear, however, that he argues that “both parties do poorly in this novel”.
“First, they did not have the humility to approach positions and overcome differences. Then, they disrespected the voters’ vote. And, third, they did not know how to live up to their political responsibilities.”, started by supporting, this Sunday, the former social-democratic minister in his weekly comment space on SIC.
For the jurist, the disagreement between Joacine and the party founded by Rui Tavares will have serious political consequences for both protagonists.
“Joacine, is a dazzled self-centered and unprepared. Livre, a party that has lost its credibility. In the future, in the next elections, everyone will pay a high price“, conjectured the former leader of the PSD guaranteeing that the deputy “will not be able to be reelected” and that Livre, “when it makes new choices of deputies, will hardly be taken seriously”.
Moral of the story? For Marques Mendes, the whole history of disagreement between the party and the parliamentary is proof “that some political superiority, ethic and intellectual of the new parties in relation to the old parties is a sham and a fiction “.
“After all, the new parties have as many or more defects as the old ones. Instead of being superior to criticizing others, humility is required to recognize flaws within the home itself,” he concluded.
The withdrawal of political confidence at Joacine was approved with 83% of favorable votes, in a meeting of the party’s Assembly that took place on Thursday. The deputy has already reacted to the decision of the political force by declaring that she was born to be in Parliament and that she will “continue to work with the confidence of some and without the confidence of others”, stressing that only she is interested in who voted and trusts in her.
