Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski about Lidl: It is a modern barn

According to the minister of agriculture, large retail chains are pursuing a policy on which local suppliers of agricultural products are losing out. Companies such as Biedronka and Lidl make money at the expense of farmers, transferring the costs to them.

– The general principle of the functioning of retail chains is to organize themselves in such a way as not to incur any costs, transfer all costs to suppliers and earn very well on it – said Ardanowski.

At the moment, the supply chain for all the largest players in the market of retail chains is structured in such a way as to maximize profits at the expense of suppliers. Big shops use the fad to buy local products. In this context, Ardanowski described Lidl as “a modern barn”.

– What is a large store, even Lidl? A more modern barn. All costs are borne by the vendors, on whom exactly everything is being forced. It is not just a question of where the networks will source themselves. They will be supplied locally because it is such a fashion. We convinced consumers to buy Polish products, the Germans persuaded the Germans to buy German products, and the French – French – said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.

– Farmers can work like oxen, bear all risks: climate, covid, and they will not make money on it, because they earn money from shops – he added.

During the speech of Minister Ardanowski, the representative of Lidl, Ryszard Machoj, member of the management board, was present. At the end of his speech, the politician apologized to him for the fact that his company “got the most”.
