The number of newly diagnosed cases of Covid-19 has decreased by 30% in the past week, the number of inpatients of Covid-19 continues to decline, and epidemiological surveillance data show that the risk of spreading the infection to the general population is decreasing, Perevoshchikov said.
According to him, taking into account the improvement of the situation, it is possible to maintain the requirement to use masks in high-risk places – health care institutions, social care centers, because patients and clients with weakened immune systems and chronic diseases stay here. The use of masks should also be maintained in public transport.
Observing developments in the European Union, he acknowledged that countries such as Austria, Germany, Finland and Italy were experiencing an increase in Covid-19 cases, but no increase in mortality. This can be explained by the abolition of security measures, greater mobility of the society, the resumption of the travel season.
In order to avoid getting Covid-19, Perevoshchikov calls for precautionary measures to be taken without going to public places, even with the slightest symptoms of respiratory illness, such as sore throat, a slight cough, good use of a face mask, and ventilating the room several times a day. wide opening of the windows so that fresh air circulates in the room as much as possible.
