In an exclusive interview with the capitalthe vocalist Daniela Mandokitold us about the new EP called Framentary Vol. IIwhich premiered the band Peace some days ago. The alternative rock group has members leo diaz (guitar), louis rodriguez (guitar), Luis Felipe Jauregui (drums), Emiliano Vaena (bass) and the performer who also plays the accordion. Her first installment was Fragmentary Vol. Iwhere they showed a different facet than the one they are currently managing, this is because there were very contrasting changes for the new project.

The Covid-19 pandemic caused several media to stop their work, so the group was also affected at the time, because that year they would be promoting their first installment, however, health restrictions did not allow them to continue with their activities. Therefore, this second time, their work was full of inspiration with the experiences that each member lived during the confinement.

One of the cases being that of the vocalist, who said she had suffered a loss and had to release all those emotions in her single “Reliving”, which is the first to appear on this new album; from there the songs “Motion”, “Stains”, “Standstill” and “Floating Moons” continue.

The difference that the also actress noticed between the two was the fact that, in the first instance, there was more tendency towards the alternative rock genre, which changed enormously with volume two, since the electronic sounds that can be heard in the songs were further explored. In this way, Mandoki expressed that she had taken the liberty of finding out with other rhythms, since it was during the contingency that she decided to make the demos to continue working on the music.

Although the singer sometimes came up with new ideas, what was complicated in this new meeting was that after the pandemic, communication and understanding with the rest of the group was what changed at a certain point, however, it was not so difficult, since everyone managed to get along. The composer stated that both EPs are conceptual and if they come together, we will be able to notice that they talk about the search for oneself and the obstacles that may be in the way, such as routine, what we believe we should be, overworking or addictions.

«Always the most important thing for us is the song and what we want to say through that song»

Even this idea of self-exploration or introspection in the human being could be seen with the covers of both projects, because being a work by Héctor Cruz, in the first EP it is somewhat more structured, while in the second, there is a little more freedom, in addition, there is a touch of blurring that (as interpreted by the artist) represents this process of when we lose ourselves. “Everyone can interpret it in their own way,” she added.

For now, they are only going to focus on Fragmentary Vol. II, but, he gave us a preview that a performance is on the way at the end of August. “A very interesting and very special show. The show will be quite interactive, so that everyone can also reflect on all the issues, “he said.
