Al-Marsad Newspaper: The supervisor of “Bee Research at King Saud University” Ahmed Al-Khazem said that the Chinese honey on the market is a substance that has nothing to do with honey.
He added, during his appearance on the Ya Hala program, that the substance spread all over the world has nothing to do with honey, but are just honey-like compounds that the devices cannot detect and are sold on “Ali Baba” in China.
Al-Khazem added that Saudi honey Sidr, made in China, is sold online on the Alibaba website for 9 riyals, while the original product is sold in the Kingdom for 300 riyals.
He concluded his speech by saying that questioning Chinese honey came because of its irrational price: “How can Saudi or Yemeni Sidr honey be of high quality, for 9 riyals on the Alibaba website.”
