The California-Based In-N-Out Burger Plans to Enter Washington
The popular California-based burger chain, In-N-Out Burger, has recently filed a development application for a location in Ridgefield, a city just north of Vancouver. If approved, this will mark the first In-N-Out Burger in Washington State, the only state in the Pacific Northwest without one.
In-N-Out Burger’s Expansion Strategy
In-N-Out Burger has steadily expanded its presence in the Northwest. After successfully operating in Oregon for almost a decade, the chain expanded into Idaho just last December. Following the Idaho opening, the company wasted no time and filed a development application to bring its iconic burgers and fries to Washington State. In-N-Out’s Vice President of Store Development, Mike Abbate, expressed the notion that it is still early in the development process.
Location and Construction
The target city for the new In-N-Out location is Ridgefield, a city located in Clark County, just north of Vancouver. The company estimates that construction will take approximately eight to nine months once the necessary building permits are obtained. Although an opening date has not yet been announced, burger enthusiasts in Washington eagerly anticipate the arrival of the beloved chain.
Working Towards Permits and Approvals
In-N-Out Burger is currently collaborating with the city of Ridgefield to ensure a smooth regulatory process. City Manager, Steve Stuart, conveyed that the city is diligently working with In-N-Out to ensure the design aligns with Ridgefield’s unique character and enhances the overall cityscape. Emphasis is placed on creating sufficient queuing spaces to prevent traffic congestion.
Continued Expansion Plans
In addition to their forthcoming Washington location, In-N-Out Burger has exciting expansion plans in the pipeline. The company will introduce two stores in Redlands and Sylmar, both located in Southern California. Furthermore, In-N-Out recently announced intentions to expand to New Mexico, with an expected opening by 2027, although specifics regarding the location and opening date are yet to be disclosed.
