Moderna vaccine found stainless steel

Five batches of Moderna vaccine produced in Spain between June 27 and July 3 were examined.

Japanese company Takeda Pharmaceutical has blamed human error as the cause of impurities in Moderna’s COVID vaccine. It is reported by Reuters Friday, October 1st.

According to the report, the problem arose from “improper filling and human error associated with visually incorrect estimation of the required 1 mm gap when closing the vials.”

A total of five batches of Moderna vaccine produced in Spain between June 27 and July 3 were examined. The first three were sent to Japan and later recalled after the discovery of foreign substances.

The report says that in order to avoid such incidents in the future, it is necessary to improve working procedures and use a new accurate tool.

Recall that in August, the Japanese authorities suspended the use of three batches of Modernacontaining 1.63 million doses, after it became known about the detection of impurities in them.

Investigation by Takeda Pharmaceutical found that particles turned out to be elements of production equipment made of stainless steel. It was noted that they do not pose a threat to human health, even if they enter the body along with the vaccine.
