“Criminal investigators of the Regional Police Directorate of the South Bohemian Region and employees of the General Inspectorate of Security Forces are working intensively on the case,” said Štěpánka Schwarzová, a spokeswoman for the South Bohemian Police.

“I know from personal experience how difficult it is to shoot at someone who endangers someone else’s life. It is not by itself and not everyone can do it. I respect all the more police officers who had to make this decision in a second and in the face of their own death. I stand behind you! ”Said Švejdar.

The tragic event happened on Wednesday around 20:00. The cottage area is near Lomnice na Lužnicí.

“An incident occurred in the cottage area near the village of Smržov, during which an intervening police officer from the Třeboň district department used a service weapon against an aggressive perpetrator,” said police spokeswoman Štěpánka Schwarzová. “He suffered an injury during the operation, which he succumbed to on the spot.”
