It’s a soap opera that’s been going on for years. But it is entering a new phase and Elon Musk would probably do well to take a close look at it. We are talking here about the Tesla Autopilot system, this driving aid launched a long time ago by the Californian manufacturer. A stunning system, ahead of what other car manufacturers offer. But this system is terribly imperfect, still incapable of piloting the vehicle reliably without human intervention. And its name – Autopilot – leads Tesla owners to believe that the machine is capable of fending for itself. Which is far from the case.
