Overseas Network, June 7thAccording to the “Daily Mail” report, on the afternoon of June 5 local time, hundreds of illegal immigrants entered the United States after crossing the Gateway International Bridge on the US-Mexico border. A Mexican border guard was knocked down while trying to stop the illegal immigrants.

Video from the scene showed the group sneaking across the bridge on the Mexican side and starting to run across the bridge when a border guard tried to stop him and was knocked to the ground. Several children who tried to run across the bridge fell to the ground and were trampled by illegal immigrants.

The migrants, mostly from Venezuela, El Salvador and Honduras, reached the end of the bridge and were met by U.S. Border Patrol agents. Some illegal immigrants were allowed to enter the United States, while some were required to return to Mexico. U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the field operations office temporarily closed the bridge at 4:15 p.m. on the 5th. The agency did not say how many illegal immigrants were allowed into the United States. (Li Fang from Overseas Network)
