Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores Faces Backlash from Players Over LGBT Inclusion

To expand Burning Shores pro Horizon Forbidden West players’ criticism is tolerated. On the server Metacritic is the new addition bombarded with negative reviews due to LGBT. At the time of writing, the game has 52 negative reviews and a user rating of 4.9 out of 10.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores has become the second Sony game to promote LGBT, according to disgruntled players. The story of the main character Aloy, who has a close relationship with another woman, they compare it to Left Behind for The Last of Uswhere Ellie dealt with her relationship with her friend Riley.

“Four hours of lesbian go^&# LGBT crammed into people, no matter how much I loved Zero Dawn and Forbiddent West, I will NEVER spend money on this series again. Goodbye! 1 for graphics,” writes one disgruntled player.

“This DLC clearly shows that Sony has made the PlayStation a leftist platform to display narcissistic ideologies and influence homosexuality through lesbian pornography just to please a certain audience and ignore the 99% of people who are responsible for the company’s profit!!!! There is no diversity, equality, democracy and freedom of expression if only one party has the floor and forces people to listen to all their **** said ideological messages to shape the world to their liking!!!!,” another is added.

“Another strong woman promoting LGBT – I’m sick of it. They’re insulting white men, so no more money from me.” another rages.

Others complain about poor dialogue and others question why the DLC isn’t available on PlayStation 4 when there haven’t actually been any graphical advancements. Someone then, apparently just jokingly, remarked that after Ellie and Aloy, PlayStation could turn Krato into an ax-wielding badass who’s into boys.

  1. As a whole, I didn’t mind the storyline. My gripe is with the dialogue. All throughout, you can easily pick up on the fact that Aloy is developing feelings for Seyka. It’s in her talking to herself and the more than obvious flirtatious banter between the two. From the get go, the writers were steering you in one direction. We weren’t given a choice as to how we would have liked to proceed with her characterization, until the very end. You can choose yes, I’m not sure, or absolutely not. Any other choice other than yes completely disrupts the flow. The game is forcing you to go with only one viable option, and by doing so makes the way you would envision the character to become something that’s no longer up to the imagination. It’s served to you, and like it or not, you’re made to swallow. I understand the concept behind incisiveness, but when you fully cater to one side or iideal, you’re not being inclusive. Good or bad, right or wrong, it’s still a choice we as individuals should be allowed to make for ourselves. It should not be dictated one way or another. The choices we should have been given is in what manner would we like Aloy to progress from the beginning. It’s no difficult task for a game developer to have different storylines for each individual play through. This allows for the player to decide. When that fundamental aspect is taken away from you, we’re not any step closer to a society that resembles anything related to inclusiveness. To all game developers, please do better.
