The defendant’s lawyer tried to persuade the court to reduce the sentence in the appeal, but the court refused. “In principle, the Regional Court took into account all relevant facts and circumstances and, on the basis of them, correctly imposed a sentence on the defendant at the lower limit of the statutory penalty rate,” Martin Zelenka, chairman of the Board of Appeal, explained the negative decision.

The man then confessed to the crime. None of the loved ones expected a brutal murder from the man, although many admitted in the testimony that the deceased woman was dominant in cohabitation and mostly enforced her own.

“She always put him in front of the finished thing, whether it was the reconstruction of the house or the holiday, suffocating him mentally and she was not at all interested in his opinions and plans,” said one of the witnesses.
