Deyovaisio Zeefuik has never regretted his switch from Ajax to FC Groningen in January 2018. At the Trots van het Noorden, the 22-year-old right back took big steps and earned a transfer to Hertha BSC last summer.
Groningen took him over from Ajax after six months on a rental basis. “For me that was not a step down,” says Zeefuik Football International. “At FC Groningen I could play a lot in the Eredivisie. I saw that as a very good opportunity.”
The fullback is grateful to Groningen. “I have always appreciated the club enormously and still do. My teammates, the supporters, the staff. Great, all of them. When the stadium is full again, I would like to go back again to say goodbye. FC Groningen has been just perfect for me. “
“I couldn’t get through it at Ajax, but thanks to Groningen I have now been able to make a wonderful step. So you see again that there are several roads leading to Rome. You should never give up”, Zeefuik concludes.
