KONTAN.CO.ID – PARIS. French police have arrested and detained a third person in connection with the knife attack that killed three people in Nice on Thursday.
Reuters French police sources reported on Saturday (31/10) that the arrests took place on Friday.
An assailant beheaded a woman and killed two others at a church in the city of Nice on Thursday in the second deadly knife attack in France in two weeks.
A man was shot by police and is now in critical condition in hospital.

France’s chief anti-terrorism prosecutor said the man suspected of carrying out the attack in Nice was a Tunisian born in 1999 who arrived in Europe on September 20, 2020 in Lampedusa, the Italian island off Tunisia.
On Thursday evening, a 47-year-old man was detained on suspicion of having links to the assailant, court sources said at the time.
On Friday, a 35-year-old man, who is a resident of Nice, and who is suspected of having met the attackers the day before the attack, was also detained.
The third arrest was made soon after, police sources said.
