JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government is boosting sales of cars affected by the pandemic by providing a relaxation of the Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) by 0 percent.
This rule already applies to cars with a maximum capacity of 1,500 cc. Going forward, the government is also planning to apply the same incentives for models with a cubication of 2,500 cc and below.
Vice President Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor Henry Tanoto, said that industry players have become more confident in increasing their sales through PPnBM incentives.

Henry also said that his party began to see a positive response from the public after the government announced the tax relaxation policy.
“Of course we will support and try to contribute to the government’s target of increasing sales of up to 82,000 units,” said Henry, recently.
If later the relaxation incentf 0 percent really targets cars with a maximum capacity of 2,500 cc, that means Toyota Fortuner can fit into this scheme.

Test Drive Toyota Fortuner-
For information, currently the Fortuner is priced from Rp. 512 million (type 2.4 GM / T) to Rp. 711.6 million (type 2.4 VRZ A / T 4×4).
With Fortuner PPnBM of 20 percent, the lowest type of Fortuner is subject to an estimated PPnBM of Rp.102.4 million. Then, we just need to reduce the selling price (Rp. 512 million) with PPnBM (Rp. 102.4 million).
So, the result is Rp. 409.6 million for the lowest type of Fortuner. But actually with the PPnBM relaxation, this variant can be less expensive than the 2.4 GA / T 4×4 type, whose initial price is IDR 637.7 million.

With 40 percent PPnBM for 4×4 cars, zeroing it means that the variant gets a discount of IDR 255,080 million, and the price is IDR 382,620 million.
However, what must be considered is that this is actually just a rough calculation so that it is easier for consumers to make an analogy.
The reason is, PPnBM is imposed on the price of a car with status off-the road. Meanwhile, the price of a new car offered to consumers is already burdened with a Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB), which is charged differently depending on the provinces in Indonesia.
