For Villa Dominik, disabled children run almost 5000 euros

The house is sponsored by the association for physically handicapped people and people with multiple disabilities (VKM eV) and is home to adults, many of whom used to attend the rock sea school themselves. During the donation run, the students of the Felsenmeerschule circled the small sports field in order to receive a previously agreed amount of money from their “sponsors” for each round. The teams in the individual classes were enthusiastically cheered on throughout the day. It was impressive to see the vigor with which the children participated, regardless of whether they were physically fit or in a wheelchair. With their sporting commitment, the students managed to raise a donation of 4803.65 euros. Last week the student representative Maya Ries from Altena and the student representative Mervan Bingöl from Menden handed over this amount to Marie-Ellen Krause, the chairwoman of the VKM eV, in the presence of the headmaster Thomas Bömelburg. She was very pleased and surprised about the unexpectedly high donation amount that is now to be used for the necessary repairs to the “Villa Dominik”.

Rock Sea School in Hemer

The Felsenmeerschule is a special school with a special focus on physical and motor development, in which around 250 children with disabilities from Hemer and the surrounding areas are taught. The catchment area of ​​the school includes Altena, Balve, Fröndenberg, Hemer, Iserlohn, Menden, Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde, Neuenrade and Sundern.
