AIn the end it is Christian Lindner himself who seems to be tired of his one-man show. Shortly before the summer break, the party and faction leader of the FDP has stated that – for years the omnipresent face of the liberals – he has consciously taken a step back. There is talk of new rooms for women and men in the second row. It is a turning point in the party’s recent history. It could be the emergency brake on the way into the abyss.
The poll values are dangerously nearing the five percent hurdle. There are many reasons for the misery, some of which are related to Lindner himself. Others with Secretary General Linda Teuteberg.
