“Flow Calle”, the new Caribbean Films film directed by Frank Perozo, begins filming this week in Santo Domingo Este, other areas of the Dominican capital and some in Puerto Rico.

This was announced by Zumaya Cordero, director of Operations for Caribbean Cinemas, at a press conference held this Monday at the franchise’s theater in Downtown Center.

Part of the main cast composed of the Colombian rapper were present in the announcement Farina, the Puerto Rican urban singer Zion, the actor Shalim Ortiz and the Creole announcer Brea Frank.

“They are four weeks of filming. It will be ready in October and November and it would be released in December 2021, ”Cordero pointed out.

This is the second tape that Caribbean Cinemas records during the pandemic after “The life of the kings”, about Raymond Pozo and Miguel Céspedes, who, they assured, comply with the distancing measures and no positive cases of coronavirus.

About his role in the cinema, the announcer Brea Frank He commented that he will play a maliciously dj. “I have to play Dj Bowden, which is the opposite of dembow, who gives his talents the opportunity to develop, but also sees in the protagonist (Farina) an opportunity to obtain other things that are not just music”, he told this newspaper.

While the reggaeton Zion, from the duo Zion and Lennox, was confident of his first film role, as it was something he had wanted to do for a long time.

“I feel very happy … I am confident that it will be a movie, that many people will feel identified, they will see a Zion in a new stage for his return,” says the interpreter of “Bandolier” .

“I’m going to do my best,” he says. His character will be a mixture of Puerto Rican and Dominican who emigrates to Santo Domingo and becomes involved in the “underworld.”

Farina, from the neighborhoods of Medellín to the DR

The Colombian rapper Farina, who has recorded with Thalía, Sofía Reyes and Arcángel, told Free Journal that it is an honor to debut in the cinema and in the Dominican Republic.

She performed a few years ago in her country and is back on track.

“I will never forget the Dominicans because it is the first opportunity they give me in the cinema. It will be unforgettable to be able to share with so many actors of brutal stature, the artists, their culture. Everything seemed super nice to me, it’s a new experience ”.

With his strong Medellin accent and good vibes, he expressed that he has started to visit some places in the DR and has tried food, such as mofongo. He thanked Frank Perozo, director of “Flow Calle” for learning.

And precisely about “flattening” her way of speaking, she said that it will not be a problem, because her maternal family is from the coast, that is, from the Colombian Caribbean, lovers of salsa, with a way of speaking different from those in the center, such as their native municipality, where J Balvin, Karol G and Maluma are from.

“Well, I have an advantage and that is that my mother is from the Caribbean (Colombian) and then I can speak a little Caribbean (laughs) … I am the only one in Medellín with my generation of cousins but my mother is from the coast, my aunts , my grandmother, they are all from the coast, from the sea, so that’s where the flow comes from, you get there, “he commented with laughter.

He details that there are similarities in Yizelle’s character and where she grew up, in very humble areas. “It is a very similar story, not the same, all those memories of my childhood, of how I had to struggle to get where I am, will help a lot to make that character look very real,” he said.

Of his new projects, he said that this week a song is coming out and he will release an EP together with the reggaeton Arcángel, composed of six songs and an equal number of videos.

“Boca” is the recent single and revealed the name of the new song: “Pégate”.

Likewise, she is another of the urban artists confirmed for the song “Las nenas” by Natti Natasha after the Argentine Cazzu.

Shalim Ortiz, back to the neighborhood

The actor and singer Shalim Ortiz will be Micky “el Mago”, the brother of Yizelle (Farina) in Flow Calle. The actor returns to the neighborhood, as his remembered character in “Juniol” by Alfonso Rodríguez, but this time as a young man who does not walk in good steps.

“The character is a gift to me. I am very grateful to Zumaya and the entire team for the responsibility. They have a very intense dynamic, I think the biggest challenge is to develop that relationship, especially since we go through very traumatizing things in childhood, added to the absence of parents, “he says about his role.

Shalim says that the deprivation that exists in the neighborhoods will be addressed, and his character will be forced to “do very strong things” to protect his sister and take her “where she wants to go.”

He is currently recording a series for CBS in Los Angeles since October last year. He also recorded a series for rapper 50 Cent.
