Facts on the case of a wife stabbing her husband in Mampang: a form of self-protection, triggered by a problem of Rp.30,000 in cash

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The fight between HS (34) and his sir’s wife, RK (35) ended in death. HS was stabbed to death by his wife with a kitchen knife in the chest.

HS and RK were involved in an argument at their boarding house on Sunday (16/8/2020) morning. The stabbing took place at his boarding house in a narrow alley on Jalan Bangka VII C, Pela Mampang, Mampang Prapatan, Jakarta.

At the beginning of the altercation, HS threatened RK with a knife. Previously, HS was angry because his request could not be met by RK.

“The husband asked his wife for Rp.30,000. Because his wife has no income, this is angry with the husband. Then the quarrel, “said Mampang Police Chief, Sujarwo when releasing the stabbing case at Mampang Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (17/8/2020) afternoon.

In addition to threatening, HS also persecuted RK. He hit RK’s head causing bruising.

RK is not silent. RK fought back and took the knife from HS’s hand.

“When he was held by his wife, (HS) was immediately pushed and then stabbed (and) injured in the chest,” said Sujarwo.

Had to chase my wife

HS had chased after his sir’s wife, RK (35), who ran away from his boarding house injured.

HS chased his wife to the house of HS’s in-laws which was about 150 meters from the boarding house where they lived.

“After being injured, the victim (HS) fell and got up and chased his wife. Then his father-in-law discovered the victim again, ”said Sujarwo.

Sujarwo said the public had seen HS chasing RK. HS chases RK through narrow alleys to RK’s in-laws.

“And then there (Mrs. HS) tried to be treated by herself and not taken to the hospital. But around 15.30 his parents informed him (of the HS condition) to the puskesmas, ”said Sujarwo.

The puskesmas doctor then looked at HS’s condition and was found lifeless. Then, the puskesmas notified the Mampang Police.

Mampang police members came to the scene and managed to arrest RK at around 16.00.

“It is with this speed of notification that we can conduct investigations. And it is known that this is the culprit, his wife, ”said Sujarwo.

Sujarwo said, RK’s stabbing HS was not planned. RK stabs HS instantly as resistance while being bullied.

Frequent noise

During their life together, HS and RK were known to be noisy. RK is often beaten by HS.

“It is often a fuss being husband and wife. Then because indeed her husband is unemployed and his wife used to work as waitresses and currently Covid-19, there is no income. (Her husband) often got angry, ”added Sujarwo.

RK is currently not working. Previously, he worked as a waitress at a hotel in the Senayan area, Jakarta.

At that time, HS did not have a permanent job and only worked odd jobs, namely parking attendants. HS and RK’s fight was often motivated by economic motives.

HS died with one stab wound to the chest. HS’s body is being autopsied at the National Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, Jakarta.

The police have arrested the alleged perpetrator of RK and taken him to the Mampang Police.

As a result of his actions, RK was subject to Article 351 Paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code with the threat of a maximum sentence of seven years imprisonment.
