Two new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Hai Duong (North) and Quang Nam (Center), bringing the national toll to 964, announced at 6:00 a.m. on Monday August 17, the National Steering Committee for the prevention and control of COVID-19.

The 963e case of infection is a 30-year-old man living in Hai Duong City, eponymous province. He had gone to have dinner at a restaurant in Pham Ngu Lao commune, Hai Duong city, where the epidemic was located.
The 964e cas is a 49-year-old woman living in Tam Ky Town, Quang Nam Province (Central). She had attended a wedding ceremony in the Duy Tân district, city of Dà Nang (Center).
These two people tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on August 16, according to the National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19.
The country therefore has to date 964 cases of contamination with the new coronavirus, including 488 recorded since July 25 in connection with the city of Dà Nang. Twenty-four deaths were reported. More than 107,600 people are currently in quarantine.
To date, 456 cases of infection have been reported cured, or 47.3%. Of the patients undergoing treatment, 45 tested negative for the virus once and 28 others at least twice.
