Faced with rejection by opponents, the Senate sends a loan for more than US$900 million to study

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Upper House sent five loans to the committee that exceed 900 million dollars and that were previously approved in the Chamber of Deputies.

After a quick session, the opponents affirm that the debt It represents a curse for the country, while the ruling party justifies it with the exception that there is more money missing and that it is not the same as in the past.

Of the six loans approved by the Chamber of Deputies Last week for about 1.2 billion dollars, five reached the Senate of the Republic.

These financings are included in this year’s budget but as a mere general protocol of those that were sent to commission.

The session, which usually lasts more than two hours, this time lasted for about an hour.

The ruling party says that more are missing and that the opponents criticize what they did in the past.

Opponents affirm that the debts of the past contributed to national development, contrary to the present in which no one knows the fate it takes.

The loans pending approval are for the creation of an aqueduct, the electrical sector and other works.

The Minister of Finance said that the debt in 2024 will be similar to that of 2023.
