A Louiseville company active in the manufacture of disinfectant products has caused a very pleasant surprise to its hundred employees at work since the start of the pandemic.
In recognition of their efforts, Laboratoires Choisy announced the payment of nothing less than two and a half months of salary as a year-end bonus. The gratuity applies not only to managers, but also to all employees.
Choisy disinfection solutions have been in very high demand, particularly in the healthcare sector. The company therefore wanted to thank the employees who worked extra hard, who had to tame additional production equipment and respect strict sanitary protocols.
It is said that employees cried for joy when they heard the news.
“It’s like they’ve just won the lotto, but not knowing they’ve bought a winning ticket. It was really a surprise for everyone, ”said Mario Brochu, vice-president of operations at Choisy.
“Everyone is in a very good mood,” confirmed Gerry Stevens, an employee of the company met by TVA Nouvelles.
The company told its employees that this is an “exceptional” gesture and that it is not planned “to repeat it every year”. The bonus must be paid to everyone on December 31.
Santa Claus also went, twice rather than once, to the furniture manufacturer Canadel in Louiseville.
On two occasions, gifts were offered to the 550 employees and their children, in particular in the form of vouchers.
Since the start of the pandemic, demand for dining room sets manufactured by Canadel has grown by 20%. A rare occurrence in its 40-year history, the company must continue its operations during the holiday season.
“We are very grateful to our employees who gave their hand this fall to give a little more than usual,” said the director of the company, André Giguère.
