A photo of the conversation notes of scout Kajsa Ollongren has caused problems for the Dutch formation. Confidential comments about the negotiations were visible in the photo. The scouts are giving back their assignment, the NOS reports.

Kajsa Ollongren (D66) and Annemarie Jorritsma (VVD) were last week after the Dutch elections referred to as ‘scouts’, who have to find out which government coalition has the best chance. On Thursday, talks with Mark Rutte and Sigrid Kaag, the party leaders of VVD and D66 respectively, were on the agenda. These were postponed after Ollongren, resigning interior minister, passed a positive test. Now the assignment from Ollongren and Jorritsma is completely finished. They immediately stop their work.
They told the President of the House that they can no longer perform their work. The reason is the distribution of a photo with legible notes of the conversations. Ollongren accidentally showed those notes to the press photographers of the Binnenhof, where the Dutch parliament is located. So sensitive information came out. It read ‘Omtzigt’s position, function elsewhere’. Omtzigt is an important politician of the CDA who is at home with burnout complaints.
Initially, the scout duo would present a first report on March 30. It is not yet clear who will take over their work.
