Dutch Railways: Photo Baudet posted about ‘Moroccans’ shows Dutch Railways inspector in civilian | NOW

A photo that Forum for Democracy leader Thierry Baudet posted on Instagram on Friday shows an NS civilian inspector. The NS confirms that NU.nl after reporting of NOS. Baudet wrote in the photo that it concerned “four Moroccans” who “seriously” harassed two girlfriends on the Sprinter train.

Following the ‘incident’, Baudet called on the Dutch to break free from “politically correct bullshit”.

“Tonight, two dear friends are seriously harassed by four Moroccans on the train. Declarations are of course completely useless. Oh dear, childishly naive Dutchmen! Finally, vote for change. Break free from politically correct bullshit! Save this country! #FVD”, was the accompanying text to Baudet’s Instagram photo. He writes about the same in a tweet.

Not long after Baudet’s posts, two witnesses appeared on social media, one fellow passenger and an NS employee, who said they were civilian NS inspectors. This story now seems to be confirmed by Dutch Railways spokesperson Geert Koolen, who says that an NS inspector recognizes himself in Baudet’s photo.

Forum for Democracy was not reachable by phone on Sunday evening for comment.

NS confirms that photo inspector shows

According to Koolen, the inspector, together with two other colleagues and a police officer, carried out a routine civilian check-up on the Sprinter from Weesp to Amsterdam around 8.45 pm on Friday evening.

During that check, the four men found two women who did not want to believe that they were employees of the Dutch Railways, the spokesperson said. After the inspectors and the police officer had identified themselves, the women showed their tickets. “A kind of well-being story did not arise,” he adds.

Baudet’s posts posted on Friday evening around 10:30 PM do not state which train is involved. “Only on the basis of the photo can I say that it is the same train,” says Koolen.

The two women didn’t ride black, Koolen says.

Citizen checks are more common

Koolen emphasizes that civilian checks are routine. The NS also writes this on the website. According to Koolen, the checks are always announced first. According to him, that has happened in this case. “On social media it is said that we do not perform civilian controls. That is not true,” says Koolen.

On Instagram, one of the three NS inspectors who was there reacted to Baudet: “I think it is special that you use this to blacken ‘the Moroccan people’. I and my colleague were born and raised in the Netherlands. My mother was born in Friesland and my father in Drenthe. “
