The La Sans Pareille troupe (LSP) was created on May 22, 2022, by a few passionate about either theatrical writing or the stage. Some of the 8 actors who currently make up the troupe had already played in troupes in Montauban or elsewhere. The troupe being open to all, others joined it to have a first theatrical experience, to learn how to perform on stage. All in conviviality, with modesty but also with high standards of quality.
On the repertoire side, the troupe stages texts which, in the purest Moliéresque tradition, arouse laughter and smiles but also questions on subjects relating to current events and human nature.
The troupe took the name of the play that originally brought them together: “La Sans Pareille”.
“La Sans Pareille” is a play which, against a backdrop of detective intrigue, questions love and its illusions. But also on the fact that only beauty can save the world because even the worst of men can be touched by its grace. Since the premiere in September 2022, the play has been performed eight times in different municipalities in the department, as well as at the Embellie theater in Montauban.
The synopsis of the play. Mr. and Mrs. Chiffe receive a visit from Doctor Carpino every Wednesday. But who does the strange Doctor Carpino come for? Is it for Madame Chiffe, who claims to be of royal descent? For Mr. Chiffe, who is suffering from a recurring illness? Or for their daughter whose enigmatic beauty bears a disturbing resemblance to Simonetta Vespucci, the Italian noblewoman who served as Botticelli’s model for his famous painting “The Birth of Venus” and whose unrivaled beauty earned her the nickname “The Unparalleled”? A comedy combining humor, poetry and character.
