Devolver Digital is『Cult of the Lamb』announced that it will be releasing a free large-scale update, “Sins of the Flesh Update,” on January 16th (Tuesday) local time.
Developed by Massive Monster, “Cult of the Lamb” is a game where players take on the role of a “lamb” discovered by a mysterious being who runs a cult. In the game, you can enjoy two main elements: the management simulation part of the cult, and the action part where you conquer dungeons in a roguelike style.
Its unique setting and the gap between cute visuals and dark motifs have gained popularity, and it has sold 1 million copies in just one week since its release in August 2022.
The “Sins of the Flesh Update”, whose release date has been announced, is officially predicted to be the “biggest update in history,” and will first introduce a new progression system, “Sins and Disciples.” Keywords such as “gluttonous rituals” and “wrathful doctrines” have been cited, and it is said to add even more depth to the management of the cult.
New items will also be introduced to support the operations of the cult, including “Shiny poop,” which will lead to a fruitful harvest. A new weapon called “Blunderbuss” has also been announced, which will not only deal great damage at close range, but will also feel like a gun, allowing you to charge it up and shoot from a distance.
A new element will also be implemented in which “children” will be born when members of a cult are deeply in love with each other. Players will be able to enjoy elements such as raising eggs, hatching them, and taking care of the newborn until it is ready to pledge allegiance to the cult.
