The original Mafia was released in 2002 on Playstation 2, Xbox and PC. That was quite a few years ago. It made sense that 2K thought the original Mafia deserved a remake rather than a remaster. For the youngsters among us it will be the first time that it is possible to play Mafia 1. Mafia 2 and 3 are so recent that they were fine to play outside of the Definitive Editions. Mafia 1, on the other hand, is a different story. Today that doesn’t look like much anymore. No worries. Starting today it is possible to play the beginning of the Mafia Trilogy on current consoles! With crackling graphics.

The Mafia Trilogy has been in a bit of a dip the last period. Part 3 was not well received by everyone and the remasters also left something to be desired. When the remasters and the remake were announced there was a lot of hype, a few months later all eyes are on Mafia 1. And let’s be honest, Mafia 1 is the game that everyone was really waiting for. So there was a lot of pressure on Hangar 13 to perform. Hangar 13 has been given a second chance to show that they are the right people for the Mafia franchise.
