The protests had gotten out of hand at times. Angry demonstrations continued despite a ban on elevators, broke police chains and injured twelve officers. The police were subsequently accused of failing to monitor the situation. Interior Minister Roland Wöller (CDU) and State Police President Horst Kretzschmar had defended the deployment of 1,850 officials and saw no major omissions. At the same time they announced a processing of the events. The special meeting of the Interior Committee is not open to the public. © dpa-infocom, dpa: 210317-99-863930 / 2 — .
