Cuban resident in Miami is arrested for kidnapping and assault – 2024-04-06 15:40:37

Authorities in the state of Florida arrested two men, one of them of Cuban origin, accused of kidnapping and assaulting a third man whom they had summoned to have an intimate encounter that got out of control.

According to the police report, the Cuban, identified as Yoandry Mora Martínez, 25 years old, would have used a toy gun to threaten and hold his victim against his will.

The meeting would have been agreed upon consensually between the three people through the Grindr application, where they offered the victim money in exchange for meeting them. However, the group appears to have had an argument that caused the situation to not go as planned.

After that, the Cuban and his accomplice, a Colombian identified as Ludwing Duván Ramírez, 26, threatened the third man with the fake gun, hitting him in the process so that he would return the money they paid him.

The pair called the police to report an alleged burglary, but after the victim gave her version, Mora and Ramírez ended up arrested on the morning of this Monday, April 1, in their home located in the 2700 block of the street 15 Northwest, in Grapeland Heights, Miami.

According to the media Local 10 Newsthe victim previously chatted with one of the young people on the application and accepted the payment of $160 in exchange for having a meeting with both last Sunday night.

However, once home, the meeting did not go as planned, and the young people demanded their money back. The victim claimed that Ramírez suffered from “erectile dysfunction” and the encounter ended abruptly.

After the embarrassing moment, the pair demanded their money, which sparked the initial argument. In the middle of everything, the Cuban allegedly took out a toy gun to threaten the victim, and when they did not receive the money from him, they began to hit him on the head while telling him: “You are not going anywhere; I want my money”.

Following the arrest, the Cuban and the Colombian were charged with kidnapping with a deadly weapon and assault. Both were sent to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on $2,000 bail.

In Ramírez’s case, he also received a detention order from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), so he is likely to face the risk of being deported from the country.
