Jose Miguel Cisneros, Head of Infectious Diseases Hospital Virgen del Rocío in Seville and one of the leading national experts on coronavirus, acknowledges that “whenever there is more frequentation, for whatever reason, hospitals have more problems since resources cannot be stretched as if they were rubber, but the main problems are not caused by covid. The World Health Organization has just ended the pandemic and Covid has become a mild endemic disease from which the most vulnerable people must be especially protected, particularly the severely immunocompromised. “They are the ones who must protect themselves the most, not only against Covid but against any other virus, such as the flu, and they know it very well.
